LPSA is Hiring Part-Time Boat Ramp Stewards for 2021 Summer

This summer, LPSA and the Town of Lake Pleasant are providing funds to hire part-time summer employees for two to four days per week to monitor boats being launched into Lake Pleasant and Sacandaga Lake, to stop the introduction of invasive aquatic plants and animals into our lakes.  These employees will supplement the work already being done by employees of the Adirondack Watershed Institute.  Interested candidates should contact LPSA President, Tom Rippere, at TomLPSA@gmail.com

Interested candidates can also contact the Adirondack Watershed Institute (AWI) at Paul Smith’s College to inquire about summer employment opportunities of up to 40 hours per week.  AWI is hiring for over 100 positions for summer 2021, to help protect Adirondack waterways from aquatic invasive species.  AWI hires Watershed Stewards (boat ramp monitors) and Decontamination Technicians for positions at more that 60 locations throughout the Adirondack region.  A list of sites is available on AWI’s website.  Click on these links for job descriptions for Watershed Steward and Decontamination Technician.

Applicants from all professional and educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply.  Seasonal employees include high school students, college students, recent graduates, school teachers, professors, retirees, and summer residents and year-round residents.

Additional information about AWI employment opportunities is also on their website.
